A tennis court is not just a surface to play on. On clay, every shot leaves a trace - a visible record of the force, movement and energy of the game. The dust rising from the court becomes almost part of the play itself, especially after a powerful shot, when it seems as though the court is responding to the player.
I wanted to slow down one of these fleeting moments and notice a detail that is usually lost in the speed of the game. The particles of clay suspended in the air feel almost celebratory.
