There is no public walk-in gallery or shop. Artwork collections are available only when agreed in advance.
These terms apply to your use of this website and purchases made through it. Please read them before placing an order.
Artwork information
I take reasonable care to describe and photograph every artwork accurately.
Screens display colours differently, so the physical artwork may vary slightly from its online appearance. Lifestyle photographs, room settings and frames may be illustrative. The product description will state whether a frame is included.
Dimensions are approximate unless stated otherwise. Artwork and framed dimensions are identified separately where applicable.
Availability and prices may change before an order is placed.
Originals and editions
An original artwork is a unique physical object. Once sold, no identical original remains available.
Where prints or editions are offered, the product description will state whether they are open editions or signed and numbered limited editions, together with relevant information about the edition, dimensions, paper or other materials.
Ordering
By submitting an order, you offer to purchase the items in your basket under these terms.
A contract is formed when payment is accepted and an order-confirmation email is issued. Please review the confirmation and contact me promptly if any information is incorrect.
Original artworks are subject to availability. In the unlikely event that an artwork has already sold, has been listed incorrectly or cannot reasonably be supplied, I may cancel the order and provide a full refund.
I may decline or cancel an order where there is a genuine pricing error, suspected fraud, payment problem, delivery restriction or another reasonable obstacle to completing it.
Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling.
The artwork price, applicable delivery contribution and total payable are shown before you submit the order.
Payment is processed securely through Squarespace Payments and its payment-service providers. I do not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
Delivery
Online delivery is currently available to addresses in:
England;
Scotland, including the Highlands and islands;
Wales; and
Northern Ireland.
International delivery is not currently available through the website.
The delivery contribution is based on the size and packing requirements of each artwork and is displayed at checkout. I may absorb part of the actual packing or courier cost and select an appropriate postal, courier or specialist delivery provider after receiving the order.
I will contact you if additional information is reasonably required to complete delivery.
Unless a different timetable has been agreed, your order will be delivered within 30 days. If circumstances outside my reasonable control cause a delay, I will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address. Reasonable additional costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address may be charged to you.
Risk of accidental loss or damage passes to you when the artwork is delivered to you or to a person you have nominated to receive it. This does not include a carrier independently selected and arranged by you.
Collection
Free collection from Harpenden is available by confirmed appointment.
The precise collection location and arrangements will be provided privately after purchase. Please do not travel until I have confirmed that the artwork is ready.
Ownership and copyright
Ownership of the physical artwork passes to you after I have received full payment and the artwork has been delivered or collected.
Copyright and all reproduction rights remain with Maria Raskina unless they are expressly transferred in a separate written agreement. Purchasing an original artwork does not transfer its copyright.
Without prior written permission, you must not reproduce, publish, license, commercially exploit, use on merchandise, mint as a digital asset or create derivative commercial material from the artwork or its image.
Personal, non-commercial photographs showing the artwork in your home or collection are welcome. Where such photographs are published publicly, a credit to Maria Raskina is appreciated.
Commissions
A commission enquiry begins with a consultation and quotation. A commission is not accepted merely because an enquiry has been submitted.
The agreed subject, medium, approximate dimensions, price, payment arrangements, timetable, photography, travel, framing and delivery arrangements will be recorded separately in writing before work begins.
Commissioned and clearly personalised artworks cannot normally be returned because the customer changes their mind. This does not affect your statutory rights if the work is faulty, damaged or materially different from what was agreed.
Returns and cancellations
Your cancellation, return and refund rights are explained in the Returns & Cancellations Policy available through the website and checkout.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Using this website
Artwork, photographs, text, branding and other original content on this website are protected by copyright and other applicable rights.
You may browse the website and share ordinary links for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes.
You must not scrape, copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit its content without permission, except where the law permits.
Third-party links are provided for convenience. I am not responsible for the availability, content or privacy practices of third-party websites.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or limits the statutory rights available to consumers.
Subject to those protections, I am not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase.
Privacy
I handle personal information as described in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms when the website, business or applicable requirements change.
The version in force when an order is placed will apply to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, mandatory consumer rights and protections available in your place of residence remain unaffected. You may bring proceedings in any court entitled to hear your claim under applicable law.
