Court 16 at Harpenden Lawn Tennis Club has a distinctive character in winter, when the vivid clay courts stand out against the pale balloon court, bare trees and an ever-changing sky.

I was drawn to the contrast between the strong geometry of the court and the movement of the clouds above it. The result captures a familiar tennis setting in a quieter season - still, spacious and waiting for play to begin again.
